UI Planner
This role is for a UI Planner at LightSpeed Japan Studio, a game development studio focused on creating original AAA action game titles for global audiences. The studio is led by industry veteran Hideaki Itsuno and operates in Tokyo and Osaka. The studio offers a flexible and inclusive work environment and welcomes talented and passionate game creators. The role involves planning and designing in-game UI/UX, including menus, HUD, inventory, skill trees, and maps, from specification creation to implementation. It also includes information architecture and user flow design to ensure smooth user decision-making and action selection, balancing usability and visibility. The role requires creating prototypes like wireframes and screen transition diagrams to visualize UI structure and UX flow, collaborating with UI artists and programmers for implementation. Additionally, it involves managing UI sound effects and text content in coordination with relevant departments, and supporting implementation, debugging, and quality management to ensure a high-quality user experience.
- Design specifications for all UI elements related to player operation and visibility, including menus, HUD, inventory, skill trees, and maps. Responsible for creating specifications and overseeing their implementation.
- Design information placement, display priorities, and screen transitions to facilitate smooth user decision-making and action selection. Balance usability and visibility for an optimal experience.
- Create wireframes, screen transition diagrams, and other prototypes to visualize UI structure and UX flow. Collaborate with UI artists and programmers to implement specifications effectively.
- Manage UI sound effects and text content in coordination with relevant departments, ensuring proper implementation within the project.
- Conduct final checks and bug verification to ensure the UI functions as intended, maintaining high-quality user experience.
- Experience in UI design for console or PC games.
- Understanding of user experience and the ability to design screens logically.
- Skills in UI flow design, wireframing, and prototyping.
- Experience implementing specifications in collaboration with UI artists and engineers.
- Design thinking with awareness of overall game structure and system integration.
- Preferred: Over 3 years of UI design experience across multiple platforms such as mobile, PC, or console.
- Preferred: Experience integrating UI using Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar tools.
- Preferred: Experience improving UI based on usability testing and data analysis.
- Preferred: Experience designing and verifying multilingual UI.
- Preferred: Knowledge of UI motion and animation direction.
- Salary: Negotiable (with raises/bonuses)
- Fixed overtime allowance included: 35 hours per month for general employees, 10 hours per month for management.
- Working hours: 09:30 - 18:30, 60-minute break.
