Engineering Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager. The main part of this role is to be a manager for a team of engineers. You will, together with a Product Manager, lead and coordinate your team and your main responsibility is to make sure the team works on the right problems and has the right prerequisites to deliver with excellence. Your team works on a specific customer problem, in an agile environment and you are responsible for enabling scalability and innovations. You will continuously review both the technical and the business needs for the team and make sure that they align with the company goals.

The other part of the role is to be a member in an active and competent product and tech management team where you will drive, lead and be a part of different initiatives. We are looking for a leader who continuously works towards creating a learning culture on a team and individual level, someone that inspires, coaches and supports their team and colleagues.

To be successful in this role, we believe that you have experience within the leadership segment and are committed to what you do. You are used to empower, support and enable your team and you practice delegated leadership on a daily basis. You have a passion for technology and can support your team in the technical roadmap.

From both a strategic and operational perspective, you take lead and execute and you have an interest to always work towards improving processes and ways of working. As a senior leader, you thrive when given the opportunity to mentor and empower people around you. As Trustly is a tech business at the core, you have a genuine interest in financial technology and/or payments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate a team of engineers, ensuring they work on the right problems with the right prerequisites to deliver with excellence.
  • Enable scalability and innovations for a team working on a specific customer problem in an agile environment.
  • Continuously review technical and business needs for the team and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Drive, lead, and participate in different initiatives as a member of the product and tech management team.
  • Create a learning culture on a team and individual level.
  • Inspire, coach, and support team members and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Have relevant academic degree in software engineering or equivalent
  • Have experience working with a tech team in a fast-paced environment
  • Have technical understanding and quality mindset
  • Have experience working with high availability and high transactional systems
  • Have excellent communication skills and networking capabilities
  • Have experienced working in an organisation using an empowered team model
  • Fluent in English; other languages are a bonus
